After an uneventful drive to Dover, we had lunch with the Champion family (daughter Helen & inlaws), who also turned out to wave us off - although Helen seems to have disappeared from the picture somehow.

As you can see, sailing conditions were perfect, affording great views of Dover castle and the famous white cliffs.
