Whilst walking at Stanpit Marsh, we came across a group of Pipits foraging in the grass on the Salt Marsh. I thought that they would be Rock Pipits but, when I studied the photographs, some seemed to have pink legs and some black legs. I took further advice and was told that this individual is a Water Pipit - the others in the group were Meadow Pipits. For more on the problems of Pipit identification, click here.
